Simply Energy

Introduction

Simply Energy offers 100% carbon-neutral energy at no additional cost.

Simply Energy is owned by ENGIE, an independent power producer with the goal of achieving net zero by 2045. It claims to have increased investment in renewable energy and wants to provide innovative energy solutions that create less impact on the planet.

Simply Energy will transition to become ENGIE in early 2024. According to the retailer, this transition will not change your energy plan, account details or contact channels.

Simply Energy provides electricity in:

  • NSW

  • VIC

  • SA

  • QLD

You have several energy plans available to you, with a few variations according to the state. The common plans are:

  • Simply Energy Saver: A basic energy plan with an ongoing contract.

  • Simply Solar: Households with a solar system can enjoy higher feed-in tariffs with this plan.

  • Simply for Good by ENGIE: 100% of the electricity you consume will be sourced from renewable sources with GreenPower and carbon emissions from your gas usage will be offset.

In addition to these plans, there are a few plans that are only available in select states.

  • Seniors Card members might be eligible for the Simply Seniors plan which lets you choose your preferred method of payment with no transaction or paper bill fees.

  • Residents in SA have the option of choosing the Simply Smarter plan that will get you a smart meter installed for free.

  • VIC, NSW and QLD have Simply Blue Perks plan that comes with a complimentary 12-month My NRMA (National Roads and Motorists’ Association) membership with discounts on fuel, groceries, dining, holidays, insurance and more.

  • In partnership with Village Cinemas, Simply Energy offers a Simply Movie Perks plan in VIC that can get you up to 2,000 Vrewards points when you sign up for both electricity and gas.
