Published: Dec 03, 2023
ActewAGL supplies energy in ACT and nearby centers in south-east NSW including Queanbeyan, Goulburn, the Snowys, Nowra and the South Coast.
In ACT, apart from the standard plan at reference price, ActewAGL offers 4 electricity plans —
Direct Saver plan requires you to pay with direct debit through EvenPay or FullPay. These methods are explained further below under payment options.
Simple Saver plan is likely to be slightly more expensive than Direct Saver Plan but has more payment options available.
Solar Saver plan has higher solar feed-in tariff rates, which are stated further below.
Battery Saver plan is only available to those who are residential customers with an eligible Tesla Powerwall 2 or SolarEdge/LG Chem HV battery storage system. This plan offers a 50% discount on electricity supply charges every month for a year.
Comparing prices is only helpful if you compare it with your energy usage. Head over to your energy dashboard to see your plan pricing for ActewAGL.
ActewAGL offers gas packaged into 2 plans — Direct Saver and Simply Saver — with the same price and payment option differences as with the electricity plans.

Good customer service
High energy prices
You can purchase GreenPower at an additional cost with all ActewAGL plans. The prices are:
10% GreenPower: 0.06¢/kWh
25% GreenPower: 1.5¢/kWh
100% GreenPower: 6¢/kWh
ActewAGL gives you the option to offset the emissions from your gas usage for an additional $1.50 per week.
The Solar Saver plan is catered towards those with solar systems installed since it has comparatively higher solar feed-in tariffs. ActewAGL also offers a Battery Saver plan with discounted supply rates.
If you have an EV, you might be able to sign up for evEnergy Saver plan which includes four hours of free EV charging every weekend. A smart meter is required to be eligible for this plan.
ActewAGL also has an EV Hub where you can view and purchase new and used electric cars, buy EV chargers and apply for financing for an EV.
Along with solar feed-in tariffs, ActewAGL also has a dedicated solar plan with higher feed-in tariffs as can be seen below:
Direct Saver and Simple Saver plans: 10¢/kWh
Battery Saver plan: 10¢/kWh for the first 10kWh exported per day, 6¢/kWh for all additional export
Solar Saver plan: 15c/kWh feed-in rate for first 15kWh per day and 11c/kWh thereafter
You can pay your ActewAGL bills online by credit or debit card, BPAY, by logging in to your account on the ActewAGL website, on the phone and in person. But if you’re on the Direct Saver plan, you can only pay by direct debit, EvenPay or FullPay.
EvenPay estimates your annual energy bill and splits it into smaller predictable amounts that can be paid monthly or fortnightly.
FullPay deducts the full amount of your monthly bill from your nominated account.
ActewAGL has a basic account management system, My.ActewAGL. You can view your energy usage, update your details and sign up to EvenPay after logging in to your account.
